FLUX information
What is FLUX?
FLUX is a live music and club night at 2 Pigs in Cheltenham town centre.
Is it safe?
FLUX has been specifically designed to cater for the entertainment of young people in the town in an ethical, safe, well-managed, socially-enterprising and innovative way. Each event will feature live performances by local young bands and acoustic acts as well as providing opportunities for young people interested in DJ performance, technical and promotional work to get involved in running the night.
FLUX is being developed as part of a wider network of music provision led by Gloucestershire Music Forum – a steering group that includes senior management from the University of Gloucestershire, Gloucestershire College, Gloucestershire Music Service and arts officers from Cheltenham Borough Council and Gloucester City Council.
We believe it is important for FLUX to adopt a socially responsible approach to providing the project for young people and want parents to feel reassured that their son or daughter is being looked after so we have a very strict alcohol policy, professional security team and an 11pm curfew. It is our intention for FLUX become self-sustainable as a social enterprise where all profits are put back into the project and links with schools, the council, the police, information services for young people and other relevant organisations are valued highly and real effort goes into ensuring that these are maintained professionally.
Why is FLUX important?
The FLUX team are passionate about music. We hope that FLUX can contribute to the social, cultural, educational and economic life of Cheltenham and the surrounding area by developing further opportunities for young people interested in music. We hope you feel the same way.
